报告摘要:Based on the author's nearly four decades of inventions and pioneering work in nanotechnology and its applications, the talk will (1) illustrate some intriguing phenomena manifested in nanostructures in the areas of electronics, optics, magnetics, biotech, and materials when the device sizes are smaller than the electron wavelength, optical wavelength, magnetic domain wall size, DNA persistence length, single-crystal critical size, and defect diffusion length; (2) highlight the key aspects, status, applications and future of nanoimprint; and, if time permits, (3) introduce one of the author's latest inventions, the iMOSTTM (instant Mobile Self-Test) platform, for digital health, which integrates intelligent nanostructures with machine learning, computer vision, biochemistry, and diagnostics.
报告人简介: Stephen Y Chou (PhD. MT, 1986), the inventor of nanoimprint lithography, is the Joseph C. Elgin Professor at Princeton University. He is also the founder and founding chairman of the board of three startup companies: Nanonex Corp., NanoOpto Corp., and Essenlix Corp., and is a co-founder of BioNano Genomics Inc. He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering (2007), a Fellow of the US National Academy of Inventors (2013), a recipient of the IEEE Cledo Brunetti Award (2004), the IEEE Nanotechnology Pioneer Award, and the Nanoimprint Pioneer Award; a Packard Fellow, and a Fellow of the lEEE, the American Vacuum Society (AVS), the Optical Society of America (OSA, now Optica), and the International Society for Nanomanufacturing (ISNM), among other awards and honors.
